About Simeon King

Simeon began making beats as a hobby, inspired by Rza from the “Wu-Tang Clan”, Dr Dre and Timbaland and his brother Derrick. After years of sharpening his craft, he was introduced to Steven Russell (lil Steve), formerly the lead singer of R&B group “TROOP” and was signed to “Strange Motel Music” as a producer.

“ I worked with Steve for 3 years before I was actually signed, so I was able to learn a lot.” At that time, Steve was signed to the “Underdogs” and had already wrote and produced “Gots to Be” for B2K.

This allowed Simeon to work in the Edmonds Tower in North Hollywood, for over 3 years around some of the best song writers and producers in the music industry, which included: R&B sensation “Tank”, Damon thomas, Harvey Mason Jr, Eric Dawkins and Antonio Dixon.

All of which wrote numerous songs for Chris Brown, Omarion, Justin Timerlake, Ruben Studdard, Tyrese, Mario, JoJo, Jennifer Hudson and many more. Being in this environment, around such talented individuals, was a great learning experience and it taught Simeon the ins and outs of the music industry:

“ I would sit there “Silent” in amazement at some of the things those guys could do. Totally unbelievable talent.” 

(During this time, Simeon also attended Long Beach City College for 2 years Majoring in Music, getting strait A's in everything from Song writing, Music Mastering and Music Business under the Famous Jazz Horn Player “George Shaw”.) 

Simeon established his own Independent Company in 2007 “MEANTEAM Music Group” with the focus of working with “Talented” local song writers & artist of all genres as well as Independent & Major Record Companies.

“ There's a lot of talent out there that needs to be heard.”

“My objective at the current time, is to build a great “Song Writing Team” and sign more artist to the roster. (Stay tuned for artist showcases)”

Also Simeon is working with Pittsburgh's Rock n Roll Hall of Famed Guitarist “Larry G. McGee “on a project for the legendary “George Benson.” 

Associations of Simeon King include “Left Coast Crew” and “Demico” for IMG Collaborations, whom is connected to Super Producers “ Stereotypes”. 

Collaborations include: Central Coasts K.O. the Legend “Kid Official” and one of the best unsigned Artist in Arizona and globally, Brandon Elliot Smith.

Simeon has done numerous Remixes for Steven Russell and Produced a Demo track for T.U.G Entertainments Mila J/Poster girls, written by Steven Russell.

He's had the opportunity to shop music to numerous people, from Beyonce to 3LW. Currently Simeon King produced a Track for “Left Coast Crew” entitled “Game Face” that was played at the season opener for the Oakland Raiders and is in negotiations to be on the next Madden Football game.
